About Wireless Coverage in Zion National
Park:
- Almost all wireless service
comes from cellular sites located at or outside park boundaries.
Because some roads and trails reach a fairly high
elevation, your wireless phone can access these sites
from far away.
However, any obstruction, such as a rock
formation, a
hill or tunnel can block that signal. Areas of pink on the map are where coverage is likely.
- Even
though the park features a number of high elevations where wireless
service is possible, the most visited areas of the park are
in deep valleys where there is no wireless
signal whatsoever. Even satellite phone service is limited by the
narrowness of the valleys.
- Any Wi-Fi that may be available is provided by concessionaires at
commercial buildings and lodges and not by the Park Service.
- The
coverage areas shown are approximate. There
may be additional cell sites within park boundaries that do not show in
public records. Cellular coverage for some of the carriers in Zion National
Park
has been field
checked.
